Seattle Pride Events 2023
Seattle Pride is one of the oldest of its kind in the United States, and has been coloring the city’s streets every summer since 1974. The event is free and open to the public – no tickets required (hurrah!) June is Pride Month, so expect 30 days of ‘gay activism’, culminating in Seattle’s Gay Pride celebration. It’s the city’s biggest annual genuflection for the local LGBTQ community, and it’s sure to pack a punch as far as it goes!

Gay Pride Seattle usually includes Seattle PrideFest, Trans* Pride, Seattle Dyke March and Rally, and the main Seattle Pride Parade. In 2019 it will be held on Sunday, June 30 at 11am, and will begin at the intersection of 4th Avenue & Union Street. You can expect a fun and colorful parade of flowers and music, going through the streets of the city. The Seattle Pride Parade is among the four largest in the United States, welcoming more than 150 organizations with 10,000 participants.
Seattle Pride Paradewraps up a few hours later, and makes way for a lively festival that takes place at the Seattle Center, and lasts until around 8pm. Looking forward to 100 or more players and five different levels. The event is free, and is sure to welcome a crowd of partygoers ready to be proud. As well as plenty of entertainment, there are also plenty of food and drink options.

Reparations Fee’ To Be Charged For White People At Seattle Gay Pride Event
Requires year-round planning, so while Pride Month is still in our rearview mirror, we’ll turn our attention to next year – and we need your help. We are currently looking for proposals for a 2023 Pride Parade theme and celebrity grand marshal.
Following this year’s memorable “Family Reunion” theme, we started by looking for topics and ideas from well-known marshals from our community. Submit your suggestions at bit.ly/PrideNominations2023, and be sure to look out for a separate call for grand community marshal nominations (to be voted on by our community) early next year.
Grand marshal is an honorary ceremonial position to lead the parade. A grand marshal can be anyone, but we are looking for celebrities who prefer to be members or strong friends of the LGBTQIA+ community. To provide the best possible representation of the communities we serve, we ask for your feedback. There are no wrong answers so shoot away! Seattle Pride Parade grand marshals include George Takei, Macklemore and Jinkx Monsoon.
Seattle 2023 Guide
The theme of the parade can be anything but for our purposes, we really want the theme of the next Seattle Pride Parade to include our community. In 2022, we will see the “Family Reunion” theme come alive in our community after the pandemic caused two years of online events. We would like to hear your ideas for a theme that fits the spirit of next year’s parade and gives a good representation of the community and the era.
In addition to the call for proposals for the 2023 grand marshal theme and celebrity parade, we are also asking for proposals for our community grand marshals in the coming months. In addition to celebrity grand marshals, the 2023 parade will be led by community grand marshals. Community grand marshals are members or friends of the Seattle LGBTQIA+ community who embrace Pride and all it stands for while working to improve the city and the people. A community grand marshal is not actually a household name, but a key figure in our community.
We are excited to hear your voice and choose a theme and grand marshals that truly reflect the people we serve! Check back as we update the website with announcements, news and events related to the Pride Parade and all things LGBTQIA+.
