Pride Events In Maine 2023 – Portland’s LGBTQ+ community may consider June Pride Month, but there are celebrations throughout the year. Here are some of the best LGBTQ+ film, music, drag and comedy events.
Unlike “fringe” festivals in other cities, Portland’s Fertile Ground Festival features only performances by local artists and theater companies, and is non-judgemental. The 11-day event provides space for the invisible and gives the audience the opportunity to experience innovative multi-media performances, traditional music and theatre, dance and even comedy.
Pride Events In Maine 2023
As the name suggests, entry to the Red Dress Club requires a red dress – regardless of the gender of the guest. This annual soiree began in 2001 as a grassroots party and has grown into a major event attended by more than 2,000 people and raising over $30,000 for local LGBTQ+ organizations each year.

Portland’s official LGBTQ+ Pride Festival and Parade includes two days of festivities at Waterfront Park in addition to the annual parade. The weekend festival attracts visitors from up and down the West Coast and famous artists.

Since 2006, local volunteers have organized the multi-day Portland Latinx Pride festival to celebrate and honor the city’s Latinx community with performances, ceremonies and the Mariposa Award.
The Imperial Rose Court of Oregon, Oregon’s oldest Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) organization, hosts the annual Oregon Gay Pageant. crown pages Mr., Mx. & Miss Gay Oregon every year and is held at CC Slaughters, one of Portland’s oldest gay bars and dynamic nightclubs.

Pride Winnipeg Revamping Parade, Festival Amid Sharp Criticism

The Portland Institute for Contemporary Art brings together artists from around the world for an unmissable 10-day Art-based celebration (TBA) of contemporary work and the visual arts.
Portland’s quirky documentary film festival, QDoc, was founded by David Weissman (“We Are Here”) and attracts artists from all over the country to screen their works at the Hollywood Theatre.
Rochester Gay Pride Festival Coming Soon
Portland’s annual Queer Film Festival showcases the cinematic contributions of LGBTQ+ artists from far and wide. The annual event takes place at Cinema 21 in Northwest Portland.
The Imperial Sovereign Rose Court, Oregon’s oldest LGBTQ+ program, hosts two special events each year. The Oregon Gay Pageant in June, and its annual election ball (crowning its emperors and empresses) each October. Court members serve as leaders in community fundraising efforts.
When not touring internationally, the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus performs locally throughout the year. The annual holiday concert is a Portland tradition.
